2 pounds chopped meat

1 cabbage

½    cup rice

salt and pepper (to taste)

1 can or package of sauerkraut



Mix meat, rice, salt and pepper.  Cut four slices around core of cabbage.  Freeze.  Carefully peel leaves off.  Put half can or package of sauerkraut on bottom of pot.  Put some meat mixture in center of cabbage leaf, roll and secure with toothpick.  Put cabbages on top of sauerkraut.  Cover with the rest of sauerkraut.  Sprinkle with paprika and cook about an hour.  Remember, this is Nana’s recipe.  I don’t have exact measurements and have tried to estimate as best I can!
